Stella's World
Stories that help children trust who they already are.
You were born knowing.
This is just a reminder.

What children take from Stella
Stella is a girl in a purple cape with a gold north star.
She has something she calls the knowing.
Every child has it too.
Trusting what they know
Stella listens to a quiet feeling in her chest. Children see that the feeling is real, and that it belongs to them.
Being sure of who they are
Stella doesn't try to be anyone else. The story lets children borrow some of her calm certainty, and keep it.
Noticing others
Stella sees the loud kids and the quiet ones. In these books, kindness starts with noticing.
Feeling safe in the dark
To Stella, the dark is just where the stars are. A gentle way to end the day.
Reading Stella together
The books are written to be read aloud, slowly, at bedtime.
They don't explain themselves. They leave room for your child.
Afterwards, if it feels right, you might ask:
- Where do you feel it when you just know something?
- Who did you notice today?
- What makes you feel safe?
Or just turn off the light. The story does its work either way.
About Stella's World
Stella's World is a series of five books by Cyndi Hoffman, written to be read aloud:
stories for children, and for the grown-ups reading with them.
The books are for the child hearing them for the first time,
the adult who forgot,
and the one in between who is trying to remember.
Read them aloud at bedtime.
Give them again years later.
Keep one for yourself.
